Rule Book


 

 

Introductory remarks

 

Terms used in this policy of organizing special games of chance through means of electronic communication (hereinafter "the rules") in the course of betting on sport events and other events, have the following meanings, based on the betting Law of 2019 (37(I)/2019), or as modified, hereby “the Law.”

 

Class A or B licensed Bookmaker

According to article 33, a person is considered capable of and suitable for acquiring a Class A

or B bookmaker’s licence when the Authority finds that that person:

(a) has or can secure appropriate resources and maintain theb minimum reserves required -which are decided on by the Authority- to ensure that winnings are paid to players,

(b) maintains a suitable control and accounting control system in place for the betting services offered,

(c) applies terms and conditions when providing betting services which, in the Authority’s view, ensure appropriate player protection, and

(d) ensures the suitability of the operation of any other equipment which may be used.

 

Event:
Any future uncertain occurrence with valuable results.

Betting:

According to the law “bet” shall mean any type of bet on sports events where the competitors are natural persons or on other type of events in which natural persons participate, which actually take place, provided that the winnings of each player are determined by the person who organises the bet, before or at the time of the placing of the bet, by reference both to the amount paid by each player in order to take part in the bet, as well as to the odds set for L.37(I)/2019 15 the specific bet, which is conducted pursuant to a Class A or B bookmaker’s licence as specified in the present Law;

Offer:

A list of Events and their outcomes with the odds, suggested by the company, published on the internet site.

Player:

Individual that accepts these rules, meets the law requirements for participating in betting, and takes part in Betting by investing.

Stake:

Domestic currency money, invested in predicting an outcome of an Event, by the Customer.

 

Outcome:

Result of an Event, on which, in accordance with the law, organizing betting is possible.

Gross profit:
Total profit of the player as a result of betting, including the stake amount.

Pure profit-earning:

Amount of money player earned on Betting: Gross profit minus the stakes.

An obvious mistake:
Any error in the Offer related to the Event itself, and regarding Odds, participants, time and place of the game, lack of possibility to verify accuracy of results, printing errors in the Offer or any other reason, Bookmaker estimates could affect the validity of Bets.

N:
Variable.

 

Daily earning:
Earning on bets placed/accepted within a calendar day.

 

Return:

Returing the Stake amount back to the Customer invested in placing a bet on the event that, for any reason, is invalid.


Invalid Betting:
Situation when odd 1.00 is taken into account instead of original odd  (e.g. match postponed, match cancelled, incorrect pair, etc.).

 

Related Betting:
Series of the same or similar bets placed on the same calendar day, on the website, by many Customers, that Bookmaker suspects to have joined in conspiracy to avoid restrictions, set in these rules.

Odd:

According to Article 2 ‘odds’ shall mean the ratio between every monetary unit paid by any person participating in a bet and the winnings corresponding to it;

Favorite:

Team or competitors who, in the opinion of the Company, stand better chances to win.

Outsider:

Team or competitor who, in the opinion of the Company, stand worse chances to win.

Home/Home Team:
First-listed team or competitor in the Offer. Does not necessarily have to be the host.

 

 

Away/Away team:

Second-listed team or competitor in the Offer. Does not necessarily have to be the guest.

 

Tournament:

Competition – Championship where many competitors battle over placement.

 

Bonus account:

Account that each internet customer has and in what bonus money, gained in a variety of marketing or bonus gambling activities, is accumulated. Bonus account provides bonus money for making bonus tickets. Potential profit is transferred to current account.

Placement:
Position in which the competitor/team ends the tournament at.

Handicap:

Advantage given to the outsider, in order to align the possible outcome of the event and increase the value of betting. Handicap is always added to or subtracted from the first-listed team/competitor.

 

Official sources of information:
1) official website of the competition organizers; 2) official website of the host of the competition; 3) official website team home team; 4) official website of the away team.

Live score internet sites are not official and not considered when settling results. If the official information differs from site to site, precedence is applied by the hierarchy above.

Fulfilled bet:

This is considered to be a bet where the result would not have changed if the game had been played to the end.

 

Outright:

Outcome at the end of competition.

 

Article 1

According to these rules, Company organizes special game of chance - Betting on events on which, in accordance with the law, organizing betting is possible.

   

 

Article 2

Betting is activity of predicting outcome and placing a bet.

 

Article 3

Any individual that is over 18 years old, regardless of gender, residence, citizenship, or any other physical or social characteristic, that accepts these rules, can take part in betting.

Underage individuals are not allowed to open an account for betting.

Company employees and other entities that are forbidden from betting by the low, can’t take part in betting.

Article 4

Services that Bookmaker provides to Customers are based on sound relationship as well as on fair and efficient services of betting on Events via internet betting.

When betting, players are obliged to adhere to the principles of conscientiousness and honesty.

 

Article 5

By participating in betting on Events, Customer accepts this policy entirety and all rights and obligations that descent from them.

In case of quarrel, final decision is made by the Bookmaker.

In case of litigation that can’t be settled peacefully, competence of the Basic Court in Belgrade is determined.

 

Article 6

Betting takes place according to Offer that consists of Events, Markets and Odds.
The Company may cancel (void) your bet, if it was an obvious mistake. This can occur when a bookmaker has made an obvious mistake, such as reversed odds of a match or some other kind of accidental error made while quoting the odds.

 

Article 7

Placing bet is done via Internet.
Bookmaker keeps the right not to accept the bet, without any further explanation.

 

Article 8

 

Bookmaker can limit stake per ticket and winning margin.

Minimal and maximal stake limits and winning margins are published in general rules.

Bookmaker can change any limit and winning margin, without prior notification.

 

Article 9

Customer is obligated to obey all rules.

In case of any violation, bet placed against rules will be considered invalid and stake will be returned.

Article 10

Related bets are not accepted.

Multiple bets are not accepted.

Multiple bets are considered to be repeated bets, where at least 3 same events are included in more than one tickets.

 

Article 11

In case of repeated betting, tickets are cancelled, and stakes are returned.

 

Article 11 a

Stakes will be returned whenever a customer does not obey the rules and laws and in case of a palpable error.

Article 12

Bet can be placed until the earliest event on ticket starts, unless stated otherwise.
Whenever this rule is not obeyed, bet is cancelled and stakes are returned.
This rule does not apply on Live Betting and Empty Bet.

Official data provides the schedule of events.

Article 13

Winning combination consists of winning bets, exclusively.

 

Article 14

Money is transferred to the player’s account.

 

Article 15

The Company vouches for the potential pay out, according to the rules.

 

Article 16

According to the article 63 (2) of the Law, a Class B licensed bookmaker, at the request of the player in whose name the account has been opened, transfers the amounts due to the player within five (5) working days from the date of receiving the request, having first ascertained that the player is registered, having carried out security checks in relation to the player's account and having ensured that the terms and conditions relating to the payout of winnings to players are being complied with.

 

Article 17

Official Result is the outcome achieved on court. Eventual disqualifications, or later adjustments of results etc, are not taken into consideration.

Betting Rules

 

 

1. Betting Rules

1.1 Meridian Gaming (CY) Ltd (hereinafter “Meridianbet”/ Company) reserves the right to change, amend or make additions to these rules, as it deems appropriate following their prior approval by the National Betting Authority of Cyprus.

1.2 The customer may be deemed to have accepted the new rules by placing a bet on Meridian Gaming (CY) Ltd only if he has been notified of any changes, modifications, or additions.

2. Age restrictions

2.1 Meridianbet only accepts bets from customers aged over 18 (eighteen) years old. It is maintained the right to cancel all transactions with minors or offenders.

2.2 In cases that the recipient finds that an account holder is under 18 (eighteen) years old, then he/she must take all necessary measures so that the account is permanently blocked, all winnings, bonuses, and free bets as well and winnings resulting from bonuses and free bets will be void.

3. Placing bets

3.1 A bet will be void if not accepted in full.

3.2 A series of bets can be considered as one when the customer/player places multiple copies of the same bet. Meridianbet reserves the right to void bets where there may be evidence of collusion between two or more clients.

3.3 Meridianbet reserves the right to refuse any bet or part of a bet.

3.4 The minimum bet is 0.5 euro.

3.5 When a customer/player fails to give an exact description of the bet (See the bet with Empty Bet Online), Meridianbet reserves the right to reject the bet.

3.6 Multiple bets are accepted, but no such bet can be accepted where the effect of one part affects the outcome of the other (see Rule 6 Related Bets).

3.7 All prices are subject to fluctuation and are fixed by the time the bet is placed by customer.

3.8 Bets will be accepted until the advertised start time. If a bet is accepted in error which includes an event after its start time, Meridianbet reserves the right to cancel any bets received.

3.09 The value of Handicap is always added to the teams/players.

Regarding the maximum payout and in the event of a combination of sports on a ticket with different maximum payout margins, then the lower limit applies.

For example, hockey, baseball and football are placed on a ticket,and the maximum payout for the hockey is €8,000,for baseball €10,000 and for football €15,000.

In this case, the maximum payout will be €8,000 due to hockey.

3.11 In the case of football betting, a bet on the results of matches with Cypriot teams either on the territory of Cyprus or abroad is allowed only when combined with the results of at least three groups from abroad. The same is valid and for betting on the results of the matches held with the National Football Team of Cyprus. (The Collective Bets (Regulation and Tax) Law of 1997), Regulations under Article 13 paragraph 22). In the event that the existing National Betting Authority’s Regulation is repealed, this Regulation will be repealed.

3.12 In the event of a reasonable doubt and/or evidence giving rise to a manipulated sports event and/or match rigging, Meridianbet reserves the right to prevent/suspend betting on the subject match and report the findings to competent authorities, including, but not limited to, responsible worldwide, continental, and national sports governing bodies and international betting integrity trade associations.

 

To this end, in case of the disputed integrity of the match and match manipulation, Meridianbet is entitled to withhold the pay-out in order to inspect all the relevant facts and findings, until the final decision by the competent bodies.

Evidence for qualifying any occurrence as one of the scenarios described above will be based on some/all elements of the following: bet patterns, frequency, volume, and the existence of syndicate (associated) betting and/or irregular betting, breach of applicable national and/or international rules regulating the match integrity.

Further, in any instances where Meridianbet findings on compromised match integrity are confirmed by the decisions/judgements of the relevant sport governing bodies/courts rendered on this matter, Meridianbet withholds the right to, in its absolute discretion, suspend any bets placed on such events, either by any individual identified by these bodies/courts or by any other individual who, in the reasonable opinion of Meridianbet, is connected to, acting in conjunction with or in any way involved with such individual.

4. Obvious Mistake

4.1 Meridianbet can not be responsible for any typing or human error in the odds offered than proposed. If this happens, Meridianbet reserves the right to either void any affected bets or to correct the error.

An Obvious Mistake occurs when prices are (a) substantially different from those available in the general market at the time the bet was placed or (b) clearly incorrect given the probability of the event occurring the bet was accepted.

5. Bet Settlement

5.1 All winning bets will be settled at the prices indicated on Meridianbet at the time the bet was accepted. These do not include the obvious mistakes * or any post-game disagreement by any team that alters the outcome of a game at a later point. It is noted that in the event of an obvious error, the winning tickets will be settled with the correct prices.

5.2 A number of circumstances may arise when a bet is accepted, or a payment is made, by mistake. A non-exhaustive list of such circumstances is as follows:

5.2.1 Where we wrongly make any odds or terms of a bet or of a customer as a result of an obvious mistake in the registration of information or market setup, or as a result of a computer malfunction.

* Each odd which deviate from the average market odds at the time of playing will be paid at the maximum odds of the market, instead of the wrong on the ticket. The customers will be informed of the reasons and the changes.

Example: There are two options to win the Champions League between Juventus - Real Madrid. In our offer the prices will be, win for Real Madrid with odds of 2,00 and win for Juventus with a return of 1,85. The odds are binding. In this case, it is obvious that the odds must be reversed.

5.2.2 An Obvious Error occurs where prices are (i) materially different from those available in the daily offer and leaflets at the time the bet was made; or (ii) clearly incorrect given the chance of the event occurring at the time the bet was made. **

Example: In a basketball match, the limit of points of team A and B was 172,5. As the match progresses, the limits increase and a correction is required to 174,5. Ηowever, due to an obvious error, the system offers 147,5.

5.2.3 In relation to bets placed before an event occurs, the odds/conditions offered differ substantially from those placed on the general market; or.

In relation to any event, odds/terms offered at the time of the betting are completely wrong in the occasion of the event occurring at the time the bet was made.

** An obvious mistake could be wrong information published in relation to an event. For example, a handicap is set incorrectly (reversed), wrong team/teams/participants, incorrect deadlines, or technical errors etc.

6. Related Bets

6.1 Multiple bets that combine different selections for the same event are not accepted where the outcome of one affects or is affected by the other.

For example, in a football match, Manchester United is involved, both options can be: Manchester United to win with score 2-0 and Wayne Rooney to be the scorer of the first goal of the match for Manchester United.

Bets are related as Wayne Rooney's performance on the score will affect Manchester United's 2-0 winning outcome. A double combination of the above options is not possible using their purchase prices.

Special Odds may be offered for combined probability. When a special odd is unavailable and such a bet is accepted by mistake, it will be paid as two single bets with the staked amount divided equally.

6.2 Multiple bets that combine selections that are resolved at different times but still within the same tournament. These bets will be paid as indicated by the performance of the second or the next selection being set at a separate level.

For example, in a Tennis tournament, two selections may be: Roger Federer to win the Wimbledon semifinal and immediately Roger Federer to become the Wimbledon tournament winner. 
As the odds of the second option depend on the outcome of the first, Roger Federer's odds to the tournament at the time the bet was accepted cannot be used to calculate the double. The correct odds after the initial selection has been completed will be attributed instead.

6.3 Multiple bets that combine selections within different events where the outcome of one affects or is affected by the other.

6.4 In the case of all multiples including selections with related results if a bet is made unintentionally, Meridianbet reserves the right to void the bet.

7. Ante Post Bets

7.1 Antepost bets are those that are placed with odds of specific selections for an event before the beginning of this event. Bets are accepted, whether the selection is eventually included in the competition or not, which means that if the customer's selection does not participate in the event/competition, the bet is lost unless the rules of Meridianbet for a separate sport define otherwise.

8. Odds Fluctuations

8.1 All odds are subject to constant changes without prior notice.

9. Acceptance Time

9.1 All bets selected with odds before the beginning of an event, which is defined by Meridianbet, will be accepted until the start time of the match displayed on the offer list. If a bet that includes an event that has already started, and no markets are offered for live betting (in Play), but the bet is accepted, it will be canceled.

If live betting markets are offered for the event, the selection will be accepted at the current odd given.

 

10. Abandoned/Postponed/Deferred Events – valid for all team sports events

  

Postponed:

 

All bets will be void in events that are postponed/rearranged unless the event is rescheduled to be played before the end of the next calendar day, based on the local time at the place where the event is taking place.

 

Interrupted:

In case that an event is interrupted, if the event is not resumed and concluded before the end of the next calendar day, based on the local time at the place where the event is taking place, then all bets whose markets has not yet been concluded, based on the score at the point of interruption, will be cancelled (void).

In cases that the outcome of the bet for that event has already been concluded, then the bets cannot be cancelled (will be either a winner or loser selection).

A betting selection is considered to be concluded if the outcome of that selection could not had been changed in case the event had finished normally (full time).

 

Tennis:

 

If a tennis player retires before the beginning of the match, all bets will be cancelled (void).

If a tennis player retires after the beginning of the match, general betting rule applies.

In case of exclusion of a tennis player, the result in the tournament is considered to be valid, and all the bets are valid regardless of that player participating or not in the tournament.

If official data for specific results are unavailable 48 hours after the match ends, bets are void and stake is returned.

The decision of the competition organizers on whether the 3rd set of the match will be played normally or as a super tie-break.

 

11. Ongoing (In Play)

11.1 A) In the event that an event starts but it is cancelled due to a failure resulting from the recipient's system or resulting from a network error or the possibility of a Meridianbet system failure, Meridianbet will have to return the bet amount of the specific ticket to the player.

B) It is noted that a player who has bet on a ticket, which has been validated before any error or malfuntion to the recipient’s system, then this ticket must be arranged accordingly. If there is no further activity on an event in which in which live betting rules apply, and have been accepted, these bets will be void unless otherwise specified in the rules of the sport.

C) If the player's participation in an event is interrupted after the bet was plaed, due to a failure of the telecommunications systems or due to failure of the computing system, the player can be informed after the system is restored about the progress and outcome of the game/event on his account pages and, in case he has won, the amount must be credited directly to his account.

Half Time or Full time – Customer places bet on the result at the end of the half time or the result at the end of the match.

I1*1 – Home win the first half time or home win the match

IX*X – Draw at the half time or draw in the end of the match

I2*2 – Away win the first half time or away win the match

 

Half Time/Full Time – Customer places bet on the outcome at the end of the first half and the outcome at the end of the match.

1–1 – Home win the first half time and home win at the end of the match

X–1 – First half draw and home win the match

2–1 – Away win the first half time and home win the match

1–X – Away win the first half time and draw at the end of the match

X–X – Draw at the half time and draw at the end of the match

2–X – Away win at half time, and draw at the end of the match

1–2 – Home win the first half time and away win at the end of the match

X–2 – Draw at the half time, away and away win at the end of the match

2–2 – Away win the first half time and away win the match

Half Times score betting – Customer places bet on the score of the half time.

Quarter result (I, II , III, IV) - Customer places bet on the result of specific quarter.

I, II , III, IV 1 - Home win

I, II , III, IV X - Draw

I, II , III, IV 2 - Away win

 

Handicap – Customer places bet on the winner of the match, after the final score has been adjusted by the handicap (advantage given to a team). Game is calculated in following way:  

Handicap is added to or subtracted from the accomplished number of home team total goals/points (it is subtracted if there is mark “–“ (minus) in the bet).

Three-way Handicap

H1 – Home win after handicap has been included

HX – Draw after handicap has been included

H2 – Away win after handicap has been included

Two-way Handicap

H1 – Home win after handicap has been included

H2 – Away win after handicap has been included

In case of a draw stake is returned.

Totals - Customer places bet on whether total number of Goals/Points/Sets/Games/Touchdowns/Yards/Tries/Innings/Runouts/Cards/Corners/Penalties/Maps/Kills… will be over or under certain preset margin.

Even/odd – Customer places bet on whether the total number of goals/points in the match will be even or odd (final result 0:0 is considered to be even number of goals/points).

Half with more goals/Points – Customer places bet on half with more goals.

I> – More goals/points are scored in the first half than in the second half

II> – More goals/points are scored in the second half than in the first half

I=II – Same number of goals/points is scored in both halves or the exact score of the match is 0:0

Double/Multiple bet - Customer places bet on two or more bets simultaneously.

Example: 1&-P - Customer places bet on Home Win & < Points.

 

First team to score – Customer places bet on the team to score the first goal/point in the match.

Scores 1st goal – Home team scores first goal/point

Scores 2nd goal – Away team scores first goal/point

If game ends 0:0 all bets are not-winning.

 

Correct score – Customer places bet on the exact final score at the end of the match.

 

Halves Won - Customer places bet on how many halves certain team/competitor will win.

H0 – Home team wins no halves

H1+ – Home team wins at least one half

H1 – Home team wins exactly one half

H2 – Home team wins both halves.

A0 – Away team wins no halves

A1+ – Away team wins at least one half

A1 – Away team wins exactly one half. Bet is losing if home team wins both halves.

A1 – Away team wins both halves.

Winner – Customer places bet on the match outcome including extra time.

W1 – Home win

W2 – Away win

Extra time - Customer places bet on whether or not there will be extra time

Dead Heat - Dead heat is a tie between two or more competitors. (Dead Heat is calculated by dividing the stake proportionally between the number of winners in the event).

Placement/Group Placement - Customer places bet on placement of the team/competitor in certain competition.

Third Place team - Customer places bet on Third Placed team in group to qualify to the next round.

If both teams are eliminated in same phase, following order is taken into account:

  1. Team to seize more points

If the achievement of both subjects is equal, Dead Heat rule applies.

Total penalty cards - the player bets on the total number of cards shown in the regular part of the match, which may be less than, equal to or greater than the set limit. The total number of cards is calculated as the sum of cards awarded in the match as follows:

• A yellow card awarded to one player counts as one card

• another yellow card awarded to a player who already has one yellow card, awarded in the same match, is not counted in the total

• A red card, direct or obtained as a result of another yellow card, counts as two cards

• for this game only the cards of the players in the game are counted, the cards received by the players or the staff on the bench are not counted in the total

• for this game only the cards awarded by the referee in the regular part of the match are counted, the cards received after the referee plays at the end of the regular part of the match are not counted

First yellow card in the match – Customer places bet on which team will get the first yellow card in the match. In case of the yellow card is given to both teams at the same time, the bets are void.

Red card – Customer places bet on the number of red cards (example: yes, one or more red cards).

Penalty – Customer places bet on the number of penalties (example: yes, one or more penalties).

 

Team to qualify – Customer places bet on a team to qualify into the next round of competition.

Total League Goals – Customer places bet on total number of goals on a certain number of matches in time period. In case of match delay or cancellation, it shall be considered that precisely two goals were scored in the match (one for the home team and one for the away team). In case of delay or cancellation of two or more matches, the bet is pronounced invalid and stake is returned.

Goalscorers/ player to score a goal – Customer places bet on number of goals scored by a player in the match.

1+ - Player to score one or more goals

FG - Player to score the first goal in the match.

No own goals are counted.

It is considered that player takes part in match, if he spends at least one second in game.

Bets on players not taking part in the match will be void as will bets on first player to score where the selection comes on after the first goal is scored. All players that take part in a match will be considered runners for last player to score betting.

Red card – Football player is shown red card in the match. Red card shown to officials does not count.

Assist – Football player assists his teammate in scoring a goal in the match.

Number of shots to the goal – for all bets related to total shots the following rules applies:

Total number of shots – Customer places bet on total number of shots (the sum of all shots on target and off target).

Total number of shots handicap – Customer places bet on the team to have more shots to the goal after handicap is calculated. Blocked shots do not count.

Result

All match markets are based on the result of 90 minutes of play (also referred to as Full-Time and normal time) unless otherwise stated. This includes any time added by the referee for injuries or other stoppages. This does not include extra time, or time allocated for a penalty shoot-out.

The only exception to this rule is in relation to Friendly or Youth matches, which are not under any governing body, where all match markets will be settled based on the actual result when the game finishes, irrespective of whether the full 90 minutes is played.

If the participants of the match or/and referee agree that event is to be played with a different duration than the standard duration of football matches (90 minutes), this will be treated as being the official rules for the event (for example, Club friendly football matches played with 2 x 40, 2 x 60, 2 x 35 etc).

In the event that a football match does not include two (2) halftimes, then all bets will be cancelled (void).

 

 

Asian Handicap Rules - Game Explanation

 

Asian Handicap 0: 0 If one team wins, the bet wins. If the result is a draw, the bet is returned to the player.

Asian Handicap 0: 1/2 (-0.5; +0.5)

With a 1/2 handicap you can either win or lose the bet. There is no possibility of a draw.

Team points (home, away) – Customer places bet on total number of points scored by a team in match including extra time or some period of the match (quarters and halves).

If a player retires before the match has started, all bets will be canceled.

In case of match delay, final result is awaited as long as match is not abandoned or cancelled.

In case of disqualification of the player, the result on the tournament is considered to be valid, and all bets are valid regardless of the tennis player participation in the tournament.

If official data for specific results are unavailable 48 hours after the match ends, bets are off and

stakes are returned.

The decision of the organizers whether the third set of the match will be played as a regular set or as a super tie break is valid.
